A tunnel through which the First Canal flows. Found at the exit is a plaque with engraving by Sanetomi Sanjo, “Uruwashikikana Sanga,” which means, “What beautiful mountains and rivers they are!” It is a quote from “The Shiji” (the history record of ancient China) written by Sima Qian, a historian of Former Han Dynasty of China. Located close to the boarding area of the canal, you can see the plaques when getting on or off the canal cruise boat.
