A boat reservoir located in Shinomiya. The canal was widened to build a port. Boatmen loaded and unloaded cargo at the reservoir. They also took rest breaks there. Shinomiya Boat Reservoir is used as a boarding area for the Lake Biwa Canal Cruise.
